GENERAL INFO
I don't know if the following rhythm is a tradional merengue pattern but when i went to S. Domingo I saw that, most of the time, the conguero is playing this pattern when a tambora player is in the band. If no tambora is playing you can alternate by playing the Merengue 1 pattern suggested by Gilson Silveira (which is basically a tambora pattern with stick played on congas).
